WHO webinar | Consultation on cross-border MoU for NTD elimination
22 Sep 2025
During the high-level side event convened on the margins of the 78th World Health Assembly on 21 May 2025, Cameroon, Niger, and Nigeria endorsed a Call for Action to strengthen cross-border collaboration to accelerate elimination of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). A central recommendation from this Call is the development of a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to harmonize and formalize efforts across endemic countries.
In alignment with this Call for Action, NTD experts will engage in a series of consultations to develop and coordinate the endorsement of a joint MoU on cross-border collaboration for NTD elimination.
Expected outcomes of the meeting
- Agreement among NTD experts from endemic countries on the key content of the joint MoU.
- Consensus on timelines for activities and the process for formal endorsement.
