GSA Ambassador Programme

16 Mar 2020

The GSA is launching a new initiative called the GSA Ambassador Programme in order to strengthen communication with colleagues in endemic countries. We wish to facilitate direct and regular exchanges with those responsible for schistosomiasis programmes and encourage the sharing of experiences. We believe that GSA Ambassadors will be central to identifying and reporting on current local issues around schistosomiasis control and by working together we will make swifter progress towards global control and elimination goals.

We are therefore seeking expressions of interest from experienced individuals interested in becoming a GSA Ambassador in their country.

This will be a voluntary position which would include being the GSA focal point, updating the GSA Executive Team about in-country schistosomiasis activities and representing the GSA at events in the country. You will be provided with relevant GSA documents and information regarding GSA operational strategy and activities.

Ideally, you will currently be working in the Ministry of Health/Ministry of Education on schistosomiasis programmes or be directly involved in schistosomiasis control and elimination programmes in your country (e.g. monitoring and evaluation programmes run by national medical research institutes).

If this is something you are interested in please get in touch by anouk [dot] gouvras [at] eliminateschisto [dot] org (subject: GSA%20Ambassador%20Programme) (emailing the GSA). We look forward to hearing from you.
