WHO Webinar | Global Vector Control Response

5 April 2022 2-3pm CET
virtual event

Several of the NTDs currently prioritized by WHO (including Chagas disease, dengue and chikungunya, foodborne trematodiases, human African trypanosomiasis, leishmaniasis, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis and trachoma) are vector borne and can be transmitted between or to humans.

Vector control is an essential component of our arsenal, but a cross-disease and multisectoral approach is needed to maximize impact and achieve the targets for both the Global Vector Control Response (GVCR) 2017-2030 and the NTD road map for 2021- 2030. GVCR is a key cross cutting pillar for this roadmap.

During the webinar panelists will discuss progress made so far and the potential benefits of a wider GVCR implementation. They will also share operational experiences in vector surveillance and control as well as highlight the importance of integrated and multisectoral actions through practical examples and facilitated discussion.

The webinar will be in English, with simultaneous interpretation in French and Spanish.
